Professor Hiromasa Suzuki is a full professor at Department of Precision Machinery Engineering, Graduate Course of Engineering, The University of Tokyo. He received from The University of Tokyo a B. Precision Machinery Engineering in 1980 an M.S. in 1978, and a Dr. Engineering in 1986. He is also a director of Elysium co. ltd.
He has published papers on geometric modelling, geometric reasoning, computer aided design and manufacturing. His current research interests include geometrical modelling and its applications to CAD/CAM systems.
One of Professor Suzuki's current research projects is "free form modelling" to capture a wide variety of object's shapes from artifacts to living things. It covers such topics as automatic reconstruction of solid/surface models from range images, free form deformation, 3D morphing, triangular mesh synthesis, and subdivision surface.
